These are documented benchmarks, not vibes — drawn from a breakdown of the reply-guy strategy. Treat them as ranges to aim at, not laws.
- Volume. Beginner 10–20/day · Committed 30–50/day · All-in 100+/day. Pick a number you can actually hit every day — consistency beats a heroic one-off burst.
- Timing. The first 5–10 replies under a fresh post get the most visibility — speed matters, so reply fast while the post is still climbing.
- Targets. Go after accounts with ~50,000+ followers, high engagement, and a steady cadence of 1–2 posts a day. Big enough to lend you an audience, active enough to give you fresh posts to reply to.
- Rough math (hedge it). A strong reply to a ~100K account might earn ~2–3 followers — so ~30 quality replies/day could mean ~60–90 new followers/day. But these numbers vary wildly — most replies convert nobody; this is a ceiling, not a promise.

Mine the comment sections of bigger accounts. In Welsh's "first 5,000 followers" playbook, an explicit step is to find the big accounts in your niche and engage the people replying to them — treat other creators' comment sections as your discovery surface instead of posting into the void.
Don't restate the post — relate it to yourself. Koe's rule: people see your reply in a big creator's comments and follow you, but only if it isn't boring. The move that earns the profile click is sharing how you've lived the same thing — not echoing what they already said.
Be early, add value, punch up. The Ship 30 co-founder's reply rule: get in within roughly the first 5–15 minutes while the post is still distributing, bring genuine value — a data point, a sharp insight, a short story, not "great post" — and target accounts several times your own size so each reply borrows a much larger audience.

Steal these 8 reply openers
"Great post 🔥" gets ignored. These are value-add openers — fill the brackets with something only you'd say:
- The sharpener: "True — but the part most people miss is [___]."
- The receipt: "Did this for [90 days]. Here's exactly what happened: [___]."
- The example: "This is real. Example: [___] — it worked because [___]."
- The follow-up: "Love this. How would you adapt it when [___]?"
- The same-boat story (Koe's move): "I hit this exact wall last year. What fixed it: [___]."
- The steelman: "Strongest version of this: [___]. Where it breaks down: [___]."
- The next step: "Great start. The move after this that 10×'d it for me: [___]."
- The translation: "For anyone in [niche] reading this — here's what it actually looks like: [___]."
Never reply with bare praise — "great post / so true / this 🔥 / underrated." Add a perspective, a number, a story, or a sharp question. That's the difference between a reply that's ignored and one that earns the profile click.
What a "value reply" actually looks like
Most replies are noise — "great post 🔥" scrolls right past. A reply that earns the click adds one specific thing the original post didn't, fast, before the crowd piles in.
Common mistakes that waste your replies
- "Great post 🔥" and emoji-only replies. They add nothing and stay invisible.
- Replying late. Reply #80 is buried — almost nobody scrolls that far.
- Pitching instead of helping. Sell in replies and people tune you out.
- Only chasing mega-accounts where you drown. Mid-tier accounts (5–20× your size) often convert better.
- No system. Random replies with no List and no daily number never compound.
Your first 10 value replies
- Build an X List of 15–20 accounts in your niche — 50k+ followers, posting daily.
- Open the List (not the feed), sort by latest, find posts under 15 minutes old.
- Add one thing: a tactic, a counterpoint, a specific example. Never "great post."
- Aim to land in the first 5–10 replies.
